Board of Trustees

The minutes of the March 5th meeting were approved.
Director’s Report:
Since Kelly was out sick, there was no Director’s Report.
Request for Duplicate Keys:
The trustees approved Kelly’s request for a duplicate key to the library for the computer repair person. This was approved on the assumption that the key is needed, and all keys can be accounted for.
Friends’ Yard Sale:
The Friends of the Bolton Public Library requested permission to hold a yard sale on the library lawn to benefit the library. In addition to a table of it’s own, The Friends would sell table space to others, so they would not be left with items to dispose of at the end of the day. The trustees granted permission for the event to be held when the library was not open, and asked The Friends to notify the BoS and the Bolton Police of the event.
Boy Scout Eagle Projects:
The trustees were asked if there were any needs of the library which could become Boy Scout Eagle Projects. It was suggested that furniture in the basement could be refinished, and that the trustees should keep this in mind, and try to identify future projects generated by the expansion/renovation project, such as help in moving and landscaping.
Library Construction Committee Update:
Jim Anker has sold his business, which will free up space in the Freidus Building which might be suitable for a temporary location for the library. The trustees and Kelly should look at it, perhaps on Friday if Kelly is available.
The LCC received 8 proposals in response to the RFP, and voted unanimously in favor of inviting 3 candidates in for interviews. Brent is setting up interviews, and John is doing reference checks. The trustees will need to set up a joint meeting with the BoS to approve recommendations.
Next Meeting:
The next meeting was scheduled for Monday, May 7th, at 6:00 p.m., just before Town Meeting.
